What can be funded?

You can apply for support for projects or networks that involve cultural, political, or social activities where children and young people are actively involved.

They should have a say in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the project. Project partners should encourage democratic participation and help children and young people gain more influence. Granted projects can begin 8 weeks after the application deadline.

  • Production: This includes creating materials like campaigns, reports, artwork, or digital stories to help children and young people better understand their right to participate and influence decisions.

What cannot be funded?

  • Organisations or networks that do not work with or have experience involving children and young people
  • Individual applicants
  • sports organisations
  • Projects aimed at making a financial profit
  • Routine operations, such as purchasing equipment or furniture, or paying salaries unrelated to the project
  • Activities that have already been completed (projects must start at least 8 weeks after the application deadline)

Who can apply?

Grants are available to:

  • Organisations, municipalities, institutions, associations, and networks. You need a registration number / organisation number to apply.

Norden 0-30 supports projects with partners from two or three Nordic countries.

  • For projects with two countries, one of them must be Greenland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, or Åland Islands.
  • For projects with three countries, at least three Nordic countries must participate. This includes Denmark, Finland, Greenland, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and the Åland Islands.

The applicant must live in one of the Nordic countries listed above. They do not have to be young, but they must represent a group that includes or has experience working with children and young people.

Cooperation with Greenland, the Faroe Islands, Åland Islands, and the North Calotte (Finnmark, Nordland, Troms in Norway; Norrbotten in Sweden; Lappi region in Finland) is encouraged. Additionally, cooperation with Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania can also be included.

How much funding can you apply for?

  • Projects with two Nordic countries: Up to 10 000 EUR

You must also secure at least 15% of the project funding from other sources, which can include in-kind contributions (non-monetary support such as voluntary work, goods or services).

The total funding from Norden 0-30 and similar institutions cannot exceed 85% of the total project costs. Other sources of Nordic funding include the Nordic Culture Fund and NordPlus.

“In-kind financing” means the provision of goods or services instead of money, which counts towards project financing. For instance, voluntary work can be included in the budget. The calculations should be specified in the application budget, and the total must be considered reasonable for the completion of the project.

Mobility funding

Travel funding for individual professional practitioners of art and culture in the Nordic and Baltic region.

Mobility funding part of the Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Culture, which strengthens artistic and cultural cooperation in the Nordic region and the Baltic countries. The programme focuses on increasing the exchange of knowledge, contacts and interest in Nordic and Baltic art and culture. The Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme comprises three forms of funding: Mobility funding, Network funding and Funding for artist residencies.

What is eligible for funding?

Mobility funding gives individual applicants access to contacts, expertise and knowledge from different parts of the region. Funding can also be used to present art and culture productions and to raise interest in Nordic and Baltic art and culture.

Mobility funding is available for professional artists’ or cultural practitioners’ travel and/or stay within the Nordic and/or Baltic countries, that is to say: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden and Åland.

Application periods

02.03.2026 – 31.03.2026 15:59 (UTC +2)
18.08.2026 – 18.09.2026 15:59 (UTC +2)

For example, the purpose of the trip can be:

  • a collaboration with colleagues in another Nordic and/or Baltic country
  • a guest play
  • an exhibition
  • participation in a conference, meeting or workshop
  • research

Funding is not available for:

  • trips within one and the same country/area
  • trips to or from countries outside the Nordic/Baltic region
  • trips which are a part of the applicant’s formal studies
  • organisational or company travel
  • official travel for employees in public administration – e.g. state authorities, municipalities, regions or the equivalent.
  • activities that have already been carried out The earliest start date for activities funded by the programme is eight weeks after the application deadline.

Mobility funding is not usually granted for residencies. The reason is that the programme supports residency activities through a special form of funding (Funding for artist residencies). However, not all residencies are covered by this funding. Since the primary purpose of mobility funding is to strengthen artistic and cultural co-operation between professionals, travel applications for a residency period can be taken into account if the primary purpose of the stay is co-operation with other artists.

Students are not granted mobility funding. However, professional artists and cultural practitioners can apply for funding in some cases, if the purpose of the trip is not linked to studies, but is part of the artist’s continued professional work.

Who is eligible to apply?

Funding is available for professional artists and cultural practitioners (such as curators, producers, literary translators, cultural editors or researchers) in all forms of art and culture. “Professional” means that there is documented experience of work in the field of art and culture and/or training in art or culture.

Mobility funding can only be granted to individuals. You cannot apply for funding for another person. If you apply as part of a group traveling together within the framework of the same project, all group members must submit individual applications. The user account that you create in our application system must be for an individual applicant in order to apply for mobility funding.

To be able to apply for mobility funding, the applicant must be a resident of the Nordic Region (Denmark, Finland, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Åland) or the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia, or Lithuania), although the applicant does not have to be a Nordic or Baltic citizen.

An invitation or letter of intent must be attached to the application. It must state who is being invited and by whom. In addition, an invitation can also contain information about what the applicant is being offered by the inviting party.

Please note that the language of the programme is English. Both the application and invitation or letter of intent must therefore be submitted in English.

Multiple destinations

An application can cover multiple destinations, i.e. the trip can consist of several stages within the Nordic and Baltic region if the entire trip is linked to one and the same project. The aim of this is for the programme to fund a more sustainable trip, where the greatest possible benefit is leveraged from one and the same trip.

An application may not include several separate trips at different times. The traveller must always return to the same destination they left from. If you want to apply for a trip with several destinations, you must attach invitations from each destination, i.e. each stage/section of the trip must be justified. However, funding is not granted for tours.

Applicants with disabilities

A supplement can be applied for by professional artists and cultural practitioners who, due to a disability, require personal assistance. The application should state what kind of assistance is needed under the journey.

How much money can you apply for?

Mobility funding applies to travel and/or stays of up to 14 days. The amount of funding is based on a fixed travel cost and/or a fixed allowance per day which is calculated according to the length of the stay and destination.

Although the stay can last more than 14 days, the mobility funding cannot cover more than that.

You cannot claim funding for production costs and the like. Only one application can be submitted per application round. The web-based application form automatically calculates the amount based on the destination and return date.
