Getxophoto Image Festival in Getxo, Basque Country, Spain, launches its 21st edition with the theme "Tide" (tidal flow/current). The call invites artists and photographers from around the world to submit projects in photography, video, actions, installations, digital art or other visual practices that reflect on the movement of images, circulation and social significance, as well as collective forces and resistance.

The three winning artists will have their projects exhibited or installed during the festival's opening week (May 27 – June 20, 2027). Production costs are covered by the organizer, and each winner receives a fee of 500 EUR, accommodation for two nights during the opening week, and travel support up to 150 EUR. Winners will also receive media coverage through the festival's channels.

An international jury evaluates submitted projects based on artistic quality, conceptual development and relevance to the theme, as well as criteria for gender balance and inclusion. Applications can be submitted in English or Spanish, and the process is administered through the Picter platform in collaboration with Getxophoto.
