apexart invites submissions of idea-based, focused group exhibition proposals of maximum 500 words for its NYC season 2027–28. Anyone can apply, regardless of experience, background or place of residence, and there is no application fee. The proposal will form the first part of the exhibition catalogue text if selected.

After the submission deadline, proposals go through an international, crowdsourced jury process with over 600 jury members from around 70 countries. Each juror evaluates at least 50 proposals anonymously, so projects are judged on the strength of the idea and communication ability, not the applicant's network or previous merits.

Winners are announced following the vote in November and receive production support of up to 10,000 USD, of which the curator/organizer can receive up to 2,000 USD in fee for coordination and writing of the exhibition essay. apexart also covers insurance, marketing, documentation, design and printing of the exhibition catalogue, as well as the local opening event, and staff assist with exhibition logistics.
