RUC – Rural Residency for Contemporary Art offers a week-long residency stay at Villa Amati in Valle Camonica, a UNESCO World Heritage site in the central Italian Alps known for prehistoric rock engravings, glacial lakes, and Roman archaeological sites. The residency brings together a small group of international artists who have the opportunity to work in studio and en plein air, participate in workshops, and take cultural excursions to the area's historic and artistic attractions.

The residency is open to visual artists, musicians, and writers. Artists stay at Villa Amati, an early 1900s villa with private rooms and studios as well as shared common areas including kitchen, living room, and bathroom. It is possible to work outdoors in the garden or gain access to private indoor studios by arrangement.

The stay costs between 550 and 1800 euros depending on room type and duration, and does not cover travel, materials, or fees. RUC can issue an invitation letter upon request, which artists can use in applications for external funding. Applications for the 2027 season are processed on a rolling basis via email, but Res Artis states an application deadline for the program of 15.11.2026.
