Cultivate invites applications for its interdisciplinary La Baldi Residency, located in the historic village of Montegiovi in South Tuscany, Italy. The residency is self-directed and provides opportunities to experiment, develop ideas and projects, explore and investigate the landscape and culture of the area. The program is open to individuals and collaborative teams in art, writing and research, and encourages participants to use nature and the outdoor environment as their primary workspace.

The stay lasts two weeks or one month, with private accommodation including kitchen. There are no traditional indoor studio facilities, but workspace can be arranged indoors by agreement if needed. The residency offers, among other things, wifi, access to equipment such as projector, speakers, electric piano and laser printer, as well as proximity to material shops and print shops in the neighborhood.

Participation normally costs 1000 EUR for two weeks (one artist) up to 3000 EUR for one month for a team of three, in addition to a refundable deposit of 150 EUR. However, two fully subsidized, month-long residency scholarships are awarded annually, where all fees are covered by the program. The application deadline for these scholarships is January 2, with expected stay period between April and October of the following year.
