Ljubljana's "Writer in the Park" residency program, established in 2018, is calling for two one-month stays in 2027 – either in the period March 1–31 or November 1–30. The program is aimed at foreign, published authors who have an actual connection to one of the other UNESCO City of Literature cities, including Bergen in Norway.

The applicant must have published at least one work of fiction (prose, poetry or drama) in their own language. Creative nonfiction can also be considered, provided that the work is literary and not academic, journalistic, professional or primarily informative in nature.

Each resident author receives a total stipend and travel allowance of 1250 EUR gross, in addition to accommodation in Ljubljana being covered during the stay. The city offers an active literary environment ranging from alternative performances to major international festivals, and the residency provides an opportunity to participate actively in the city's literary life while having peace to write.
