The Court of Cavalum offers a work placement (they call it a "residence") in the countryside of northern Portugal. There you can work on your own creative project, whether you are involved in art, music, writing, technology or something else. You decide your own goal, and the others who live there help each other stay focused.

The site has several studios you can use, including a dance barn, sound studio, editing room, library and a workshop. You will have access to common equipment such as computers, projectors and recording equipment. The stay lasts from one to three months and you live and eat with the other participants.

This is not a free scholarship. You pay for your stay from 1400 euros per month, slightly lower for longer stays. The price covers accommodation, food, internet, bed linen and laundry. There is no application fee per se, but the entire stay is self-paid. You apply by filling out a form on their website and are then asked for a video call before you book a place.
