Casa na Ilha offers a self-directed residency for artists from all disciplines on the island of Ilhabela, north of São Paulo in Brazil. The location is in an ecological reserve covered by Atlantic rainforest, with access to shared studio with sea views, individual workspaces and outdoor areas for creative work. Each residency period brings together 2–6 artists from different fields at the same time, with focus on interdisciplinary exchange and community, with no requirement to deliver a finished work.

The stay lasts 2–4 weeks and can take place in shared or private rooms. A tutor is available on-site 24/7 for conversations about projects and ideas, but there is no set schedule – artists direct their own work process. The program includes daily breakfast, a weekly shared dinner, weekly cleaning, bed linen and towels, as well as wifi.

There is no application fee. Applicants send an email to receive the application form, and must submit a short bio, project description, work samples (maximum 12) and any link to website/portfolio. However, the actual stay costs a significant personal contribution that covers accommodation, studio space and simple meals, and this cost must be paid entirely by the artist.
