Kristiansand Municipality, in collaboration with Agder Art Center, offers an artist residency at the historic Myren Gård. The residency gives professional artists the opportunity to live and work in the city for a period of 1 to 3 months, with free room in a shared apartment, access to shared living room and simple studio, as well as the opportunity to use a shared graphics workshop for artists with experience in printmaking techniques.

The stay covers electricity, heating, internet, washing facilities and bicycle for free use, but the artist must cover travel, food, art materials and toiletries themselves. There are no specific requirements for artistic production, but artists are encouraged to give a presentation of their work, for example through an open studio day or artist talk. Local hosts assist with networking in the local art community.

One residency period per year is linked to funding through Den kulturelle skolesekken, and applicants with relevant project proposals can include this in their application. Otherwise, each applicant is responsible for their own financing of living costs, travel, materials and insurance, and is encouraged to seek support in their home country.
