NordArt is one of Europe's largest annual contemporary art exhibitions, organized by the non-profit cultural initiative Kunstwerk Carlshütte since 1999. The exhibition takes place on the historic ironworks site Carlshütte in Büdelsdorf, with 22,000 m² of indoor exhibition space and 80,000 m² of sculpture park, and showcases works from over 200 selected artists from around the world each year.

Artists from around the world can apply for free, either electronically, via email or mail. The application should include a CV, up to 10 images of proposed works with title, year, technique and dimensions, as well as any project description if you wish to participate as an artist-in-residence. A professional jury consisting of curators, artists and an art historian evaluates all applications by mid-February 2027, and selected artists are notified by email.

The exhibition runs from June 5 to October 3, 2027. The artists themselves are responsible for transporting their works to and from the exhibition venue, but the works are insured by NordArt for the entire exhibition period. All participating artists receive a free catalog, and prizes are awarded: the NordArt Prize of 10,000 euros and three audience prizes of 1,000 euros each.
