Visual Poetry Journal invites photographers from around the world to submit works for possible publication in both the print and digital editions of the magazine. The magazine is registered as a digital periodic publication in the Netherlands with its own e-ISSN number, and printed copies are distributed internationally. Submission to the magazine itself is free, and selected photographers receive a digital PDF version of the edition as well as images of their own pages in the printed edition.

In addition to the free basic package, the organizer offers several paid additional services: publication with photographer profile on the website (40 USD), interview in magazine and on website (80 USD), curatorial review (140 USD), as well as the opportunity to display the work on a digital billboard in Times Square in New York for an additional 40 USD. These amounts exceed the threshold of approximately 50 EUR for what is considered a reasonable participation fee.

Applicants submit up to 6 images in JPG format along with a biography and artist statement via a form on the website, or via email. The deadline for submission to the October and November 2026 edition is October 30, 2026.
