The RePAIR Program is PARADISE AIR's first fee-based residency program, created to finance continued operation and development of the residence after the previous free programs were put on pause. Artists live and work independently in a private studio of approximately 40 square meters with private bathroom, in a building with shared kitchen, laundry room and common areas in Matsudo outside Tokyo.

The program includes introduction and local tour in the first week, artist meetings with coordinator in weeks 1, 3 and 5, opportunity to participate in open studio events, as well as an archive project with portrait photography. PARADISE AIR also assists with official invitation letters, support documents for grant applications and a residence handbook, as well as profiling of the artist on its own website.

Artists in all art fields can apply, including visual art, research, curatorial practice, writing and lectures. English or Japanese language skills are required, willingness to use stairs (no elevator in the building) and participation in shared communication channels with staff and other resident artists.

• Who can apply: Artists and cultural workers internationally, including those resident in Norway, without specific requirements regarding citizenship or place of residence.
• Field of culture: Interdisciplinary art (visual art, research, curatorial practice, writing, lectures)
• Covered / paid out: Private studio (approx. 40 sqm) with private bathroom, access to common areas (kitchen, laundry room, lounge), coordinator support, invitation letters, support documents for grant applications, residence handbook and website profiling – all included in the participation fee.
• You pay yourself: Residence fee of JPY 420,000 (approx. 2,600 EUR) for six weeks' accommodation in one room, plus additional JPY 21,000 per week per accompanying guest. Travel and other costs are not covered.
