App for volunteers and crew

The crew app brings together what volunteers and crew need on shift: ticket scanning, lost and found, messages from the organiser and the programme. It opens on their own phone, and the organiser decides who has access.

Free event add-on in 2027If your organisation starts a paid membership before 1 April 2027, the event add-on is free until 30 September 2027 – the whole festival season. The offer applies to paid memberships, not free trials.

Everything the crew needs, in its own app

The crew app is a separate version of the event app, with its own tabs for scanning, lost and found, messages and status. It can be added to the home screen as a separate app, next to the audience app.

What the crew gets

Ticket scanning

Scan QR codes with the camera, or look up a name or order number. The latest check-ins are listed, and mistakes can be undone.

Works offline

The ticket list is downloaded when the crew app opens and kept up to date. Offline check-ins are sent when coverage returns.

Lost and found

Crew and audience report found items with a photo. The crew approves what is shown in the app and marks the item as handed over when the owner collects it.

Crew-only messages

The organiser can send a message to everyone or to the crew only, for example “All volunteers to the info tent at 4 pm”. The crew gets it as a notification.

Status at the entrance

See how many are inside, how many have not arrived yet, and the split per ticket type.

Temporary crew

Volunteers get access from and to a date you choose. They do not count as users in the membership and can only scan and register lost and found.

How to give the crew access

  1. Regular staff in the organisation get crew access as a permission in the organisation. They count as users in the membership.
  2. Volunteers are added as temporary crew with an email address and dates, in the Vangen panel under Tickets.
  3. The crew opens the crew app from the link, logs in and is ready to scan.

Temporary crew

Many events have far more people working a few days a year than they have on the board or staff. With temporary crew you choose the dates each volunteer has access, up to 60 days. After the last date, access closes, and the entry is deleted 30 days later. You can have up to 500 temporary crew per event.

Everyone on the crew logs in with a Kulturella account. The account is free. People without an account get a link by email, and access is connected once they have signed up.

Temporary crew is part of the event add-on of NOK 1,500 per event. If your organisation starts a paid membership before 1 April 2027, the event add-on is free until 30 September 2027 – the whole festival season. The offer applies to paid memberships, not free trials.
